A Crazy, Good Relationship Story

I am often asked what muscle testing and face reading have to do with each other. And, believe me, I questioned the same thing when I took my first course at Three In One Concepts in California back in 1987. The following is the rather dramatic story of discovering how the two modalities can work together to give you more awareness, especially in regards to relationships. 37 years later, I still use both!

Sonja (my aunt and soul sister) and I arrived in Burbank, California in 1987 to begin our study of kinesiology. We walked from the B & B where we were staying to the
building where we would take our courses.

As we arrived at the building, a car pulled up and a tall, thin man with long, curly hair, got out. I leaned over to Sonja and said, 'I don't want him working on me!' She looked at me like I was crazy and said, 'You don't even know him.'

It just so happened that Sonja was seated next to the man, named Robert. Sparks flew between us. Gordon Stokes was teaching face reading that day. He looked at Robert and me and started to say that if we were married to each other....and I finished his thought by saying, 'we would kill each other!' If you know me, you know that I wouldn't be caught dead speaking to someone like that. Sonja was in shock.

After class, Sonja grabbed me to do some muscle testing to figure out what was going on. Another student did the same with Robert. We both had to release unpleasant memories of someone from our past that was triggering antagonism towards each other.

Fast forward a week and Sonja, Robert and I were together in another course. I wanted to skip class that day. Sonja wouldn't hear of it. I said I would go ONLY IF ROBERT WOULD WORK WITH ME!' Robert had become the only person who I trusted the most to support me.

The entire class had watched Robert and me go from sparks flying to best friends in a matter of days. We had never met prior, so the animosity had to do with baggage that we brought to the new relationship. Muscle testing and identifying and releasing the triggering facial structures created a genuine friendship.

Over the years I have enjoyed working with couples to identify and release past perceptions and blocks with muscle testing and face reading. The feedback I get is positive as they are able to open up new ways of communicating and getting along.

I enjoyed writing my book on face reading and having it be a resource for anyone wanting to learn more about themselves or important people in their lives.

Understanding Face Shape for Confidence and Healing

You may think that this is an odd title, but let me give you more information. Face reading and understanding facial traits is one of my studies that became a passion and I eventually wrote a book to help people understand themselves and their relationships. (See below)

The shape of your face has a lot to do with self-confidence - innate or learned. There is no good or bad structure to have and the more you understand, the better the relationship is with yourself and others. Facial structures represent your gifts, talents, abilities, strengths, lessons to learn and more.

First, let's look at the Broad-Shield face where you see width through the eye sockets and width 2/3 or more the length of the face from the turn of the forehead to the chin. Confidence is innate in this person and they jump right in when they see a need - whether asked or not. They feel that they can handle anything and tend to face challenges head on. Need a volunteer for a project, this is your person.

I have a broad-shield face and like to jump in and get things done. I've always wanted to skip steps and I like a 1, 2, 10 approach (skipping the in between steps). Well, that isn't working very well as I tackle healing from Lyme. I am having to stop and pay attention to the steps and the time line needed to make progress. It is a wonderful lesson for me despite the frustration that things aren't moving as fast as I would like. Do I have confidence that I will heal? Absolutely!

The person with a long, narrow face develops confidence and assurance when they have learned the steps necessary for anything that challenges them. They are by nature cautious and want to be sure before investing their time and energy into any new venture or relationship.

When it comes to learning or healing, this person needs to demand and then know the steps needed to have success. That increases their confidence in the process and/or relationship.

My husband has a long, narrow face and is an engineer. His nature and profession demand a step-by-step approach. We are textbook opposite and we have taught each other so much. I have learned to value steps because of what he has shown me and he has learned to speed things up at times. Opposites attract for a reason!

Face Reading Blog

Now that I am back writing, I am taking time to update this blog as well as my face reading blog: www.gingersfacebook.blogspot.com

Face reading has been a big part of what I offer with my business. I had the wonderful opportunity to study with Daniel Whiteside in the 1980s. His parents had done a 5 year research study with facial structures and their associated behaviors. Daniel took it to another step when he joined forces with Gordon Stokes who had been the educational director with Touch for Health. What a duo!

Understanding individual facial traits has allowed people to gain a greater respect for themselves and what they offer to the world. I invite you to gather more information on my blog and have fun with it.

When I finally decided to write a book about face reading, I was surprised at how much fun it was. I wrote in my own style: concise with pictures and stories. I am not a novelist!

5 Reasons to Look in the Mirror - What Our Facial Structures Reveal About Us

A mirror can be your best friend. What?

Get out a mirror right now and follow along with me as I take you on a tour of your wonderful, unique face. You are looking at your gifts, your talents, your personality, your communication style, your stress management skills, your resume, your true nature. Your story is written on your face and it is your story to tell.

  • Look at the size of your irises - the colored part of the eye. The larger the irises, the greater your emotional response to life. You laugh more, cry more, experience life more. Many people may have attempted to tone you done. Don't let them. This is who you are. The smaller the iris, the more emotionally restricted you have been. Give yourself permission to experience and FEEL life more fully. It will be a wonderful gift that you give yourself.
    • Look at the space between your eyes. Are your eyes close-set with little space between them or are they wide-set with significant space between them? If you have close-set eyes, you are excellent at details and getting things done. Your friend, wide-set eyes, can benefit from your ability to focus on what needs to get done. They, on the other hand, are able to see the big picture and help you create a plan for the future. Together, you make the best business partners.
    • The tip of the nose indicates your degree of trust. Look at your profile. Does the tip of your nose turn up like a ski jump or does it turn down? If the tip of your nose turns up, you are very trusting and enthusiastic in the moment. You are often the cheerleader who encourages others with your eager nature. If your nose tip turns down, you have learned healthy skepticism and will accept people and ideas after much thought. You have learned to do your homework and will not rush into something with blind faith.
    •  What does the mirror show you about your lip structures? Are your lips full or thin? This is often a trait that changes over time. Most of us begin life with full upper and lower lips and revel in experiencing life fully and talking, laughing and expressing ourselves without a care for what others think. If our lips have thinned, it is often because of being told to "zip it" and we have learned to just stick to the facts. Why not become more child-like and allow for more self-expression, whether it be with the spoken word or through art, music, photography, dance, writing, etc.
    • Now let's look at your cheekbones. Draw an imaginary line along the outside of your eyes. Are your cheekbones outside of the line or inside of the line? Cheekbones have to do with adventure. If you have prominent cheekbones, you love physical adventure. Even moving furniture around can get you excited. Taking a new road home from work, trying a new exercise routine, anything new is an adventure. If your cheekbones are sunken and inside the imaginary line, you love mental adventures. Reading, studying manuals, gathering new information, searching the web, etc. is an adventure for you. It doesn't mean that you don't enjoy physical experiences, but if you want to regroup when you are stressed, grab a book and settle down and give yourself a mental exploration.
